Watershed, Water Harvesting & Hydrological Design
Ponds, drainage logic, infiltration systems, contour thinking, greywater integration, and landscape hydrology — treated as the foundation for all other design decisions.
What This Involves
Water is the first decision in every Anityatva project. The movement and retention of water across a site determines where everything else goes — trees, structures, access, fertility. We design water systems before any other layer is planned.
- Topographic and hydrological site reading — how water currently moves, where it goes, what it does
- Keyline design — ponds positioned for maximum catchment and gravity-fed distribution
- Contour mapping and earthworks planning — swales, banks, terraces, overflow channels
- Pond and dam design — sizing, spillway logic, lining specification, safety margins
- Infiltration systems — rain gardens, soakpits, French drains, bioswales
- Greywater management and integration
- Irrigation system design aligned with water harvesting infrastructure
- Earthworks contractor briefings and on-site supervision
Who This Is For
Any site where water management is inadequate — which is most sites in India. Particularly relevant for projects in rain-dependent or water-scarce regions, large sites with surface runoff losses, and any farm or estate where irrigation costs are high and water availability is variable.
How We Engage
01
Site Assessment & Direction Setting
A structured site visit and written assessment covering ecological conditions, design possibilities, priority interventions, and a clear direction for next steps. No implementation commitment required.
For: landowners needing clarity before committing to a full project.
02
Design & Strategy
A full systems design covering water, access, planting structure, productive zones, enterprise logic, and phased implementation roadmap. Delivered as design documents, maps, species lists, and implementation plans.
For: projects requiring a complete design before independent implementation begins.
03
Design + Implementation Support
Design followed by active support during execution — site visits, material sourcing guidance, staff training, SOP development, and field-level correction through the critical early phases.
For: clients wanting active support through the most important phase of a project's life.
04
Retainer & Ongoing Management Advisory
Long-term monthly engagement covering regular site visits, remote monitoring, seasonal planning, staff management, quality control, and crisis response as the system matures.
For: projects requiring a long-term partner in implementation and management.
